he totally made me feel at ease before the operation this from someone who doesn't like hospitals and reassured me through the whole process.I would like to thank him and everyone for the care I received and given me my active life back.

I found Mr Pearce to be very approachable and he explained every detail how my hip operation was going to proceed. Before the operation, he came to see me in hospital to explain what was going to happen during the operation and also the aftercare. During the evening he came to see me to check on my well-being and how I was feeling after the operation. I was discharged after two days to recuperate at home. This was followed up by aftercare and exercises at home. Two weeks after my operation I had a wound check by the nurse followed by a visit to the physio. Four weeks after that I saw the physio and was signed off. Six weeks after my operation I saw Mr Pearce again who gave me a thorough check ie wound and flexibility and he signed me off saying ‘he was very pleased with my recovery’.

My experience at the Spire Sussex Hospital was very positive, the staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful, the whole stay (apart from the obvious pain from Op) was very relaxing and satisfying. My surgeon Mr. Simon Pearce, plus the whole of his team, were very informative and conscientious, the atmosphere when I went down to the operating theater was very relaxed and soothing and although a bit apprehensive I was made to feel well looked after. Would definitely recommend this Hospital and all its staff.

I have just had my second Hip replacement, left hip this time. I have to congratulate Mr Pearce for his surgical skills. My previous surgery was with one of the so called old school, told you must have him for his experience etc. Going for the younger man this time has meant a quicker recovery, I was swimming after three weeks and daily walking without crutches and after just over five weeks I'm nearly back to normal. Now i have been allowed to start Golf, Chipping/Putting and build up towards playing in the near future. I knew after my first meeting with Mr Pearce that he was a person I could put my trust in and I can say the same for the Anaesthetist and colleagues.Well done TEAM.

to use the english phrase, 'a gentleman and a scholar' in my experience with the orthopaedic surgeon mr simon pearce, is most noteworthy and applicable. the care and detail given in the exchange to prepare me and follow through for my tkr, were comprehensive and all-embracing. mr simon pearce was consistently courteous and professional. the spire and conquest hospital staff were always considerate, polite and competent. the spire hospital room which enabled the recovery process from the tkr, was always within the bounds of hygiene and very agreeably monitored for service and comfort. as progress is always with us, i should like to know what research is underway with regard to the 'total knee replacement' operation. my thanks to all. dr o j silver.
